Love Doesn’t Need to Be Earned

Do you love you? It seems like a simple question, but is it really? I want to love me. I want to say I love me, but I know I’m not there yet. There is so much noise in this world; so much noise from those that have opinions on matters that are not even their concern. The noise can be scary (I’m still scared of it). But what if you could build a wall of self-care to block out the noise? What if you could listen to self? What if you could find that love for self and let that love find you? That’s what I’m doing, for the next two years.

My gender therapist suggested that as I go through the initial phase of medical transition, I erect a wall around myself for two years. A self-care wall.
